Imagine being offended by what someone says about you that makes you very angry and the next thing when you see the person is to give him or her a piece of your mind which most times will be words that you will eventually regret!
What most of us don’t realize is that this is the same thing that happen when we speak words contrary to the word of God
We eventually regret it. In fact those words could be the difference between life and death!
Words are more important than many realise
The scripture teaches us about the importance of the word we speak. Words are very powerful. Words are far more important than many people realize. God caused the creation of earth by the words of His mouth. He says light be! And there was light. God’s words are the right words. Say His words instead of what you want to say that you know are not His words. Howver if you don’t know what He had said, find out in the bible.
What are you saying? Because your words are the vehicles that will take you to your destination.
Your words will justify or condemn you
Your destiny is determined by the words of your mouth.
What are the fruits of your lips? Is it praises to God or complain about your situation to God, to man and to everyone who will listen.
A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompense of a man’s hands shall be rendered unto him. Proverbs 12:14.
Jesus warned us about the effect of our words. He states that our words justify us or condemn us, what we say in any situation will eventually determine the outcome! He further illustrated the effect of words when He spoke to the fig tree which eventually dried up in Mark chapter 11. When His disciples saw the effect of the word of Jesus, He replied that….. That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Mark 11:23
It’s your choice, not God’s to choose the right words
Your words will create your life, your words will shape you and make you rise to the top or destroys you.
It’s your choice.
Your words will release the power of God into your life or it will allow and empower the devil to destroy you. It’s your choice.
Therefore, you need to make the right choice, you need to understand that it is your responsibility to do that. That is making a commitment to let the word of your mouth be words of faith and words of victory irrespective of what you are going through.It is in the face of adversity that you need to be very very careful and watch your mouth.
If you make a mistake and speak wrongly, cancel it with your words and continue to say the right words from God’s word.
We win if we speak right, we lose if we don’t
For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body (James 5:2). The bible says your body will go in the direction of your word; your life will follow the direction of your word. So watch your mouth! Your healing will come as result of what you are saying about it, your prosperity will come as a result of what you are saying about it.
You need to meditate on the word of God daily, in order to feed your faith and align your mouth with the word of God. God’s desire is for His children to walk in victory and if you are the only believer on earth, it will still be His will for you. God has programmed and empowered you by His Spirit to do it. He has given you His word so that you can know what to say. This is the principle He has outlined in His word for us to have victory over the enemy every time, if we do it we will have the results, if we don’t we won’t!
