You can’t not take that risk!

As you look back to your life and career to date, where do you reckon you should have been braver, where do you wished you have taken some risk, trusted in yourself more, and been less cautious and go for it? where? Almost all of us can relate I guess.

Risk has rewards

It’s easy to stick to the status quo and stay in that comfortable lane that we know. But then what is life if that is all we do. It becomes routine, boring and lacks growth.
It’s possible we have all heard of McDonald, but if Ray Kroc did not take the risk to create McDonald’s restaurants all over United States, we probably would not have heard or taste the McDonald’s burger today. When people think of risk especially in business and entrepreneurship, they think about a special kind of person who bets the house on and then reap high reward of success and glory. But that is actually not the whole truth. Wise entrepreneur never bets the whole house, they hedge their risk so that no matter the initial loss, they are still ticking to fight the next day and eventually win the glory

Why not bet the whole house

The bible instructs us to take risk. In fact the bible is full of ordinary people who took risks and becomes extraordinary by the things they did by their obedience in faith to instructions given to them. However, this  kind of risk the bible tells us to take is to bet the whole house on the project Jesus. To follow the plan He has for us in this life.

You see Jesus  taught that.  Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. Matthew 16:24 NIV

He told us to follow Him with our whole heart, soul and body . He encouraged us to take this exciting risk with our lives that will lead us into an adventurous life in Him, if we only would dare.

This adventure, this risk begins with knowledge. No wonder He said  “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11: 28-29

Understand the risk and its rewards

Jesus did not want us to  jump into taking the risk without understanding, He want us to learn how to walk the walk and talk the talk by seeking first the Kingdom of God and how things works in that Kingdom. (Matthew 6:33)

Truth is, what He is asking us to do is not a leap darkly into the unknown as many people thinks , He is calling us  to walk by faith in His word and not by how we feel.

His word will always come to pass. His word will always bring the result He promised when we believe it.

The certainty of the reward of the risk is hundred percent. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1  He promised that He will hasten to perform the word He has given you (Jeremiah 1:12)

Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. Very interesting, thrones and Kingdoms for those who took the risk to follow and obey him, and fulfill His plans for their lives  here on earth.

Perhaps you think when you take that risk to obey Him and fulfill His plans for your life, you only have the rewards coming to you in the sweet by and by. He thinks otherwise and His answer is the same He gave Peter hundreds of years ago

Then Peter began to speak up. “We’ve given up everything to follow you,” he said.  “Yes,” Jesus replied, “and I assure you that everyone who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or property, for my sake and for the Good News, will receive now in return a hundred times as many houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and property—along with persecution. And in the world to come that person will have eternal life.

You have the reward starting now dear friend, in fact the reward is built into the obedience.
