Are you building weaker or stronger?

Have you been around a construction site where a skyscraper is being built? if you had, especially at the commencement of the building you will notice that the builders would first create a foundation for the building before they build on it. Now, you will notice a  contrast between the foundation for the skyscraper building and a bungalow if you’d seen one.

The difference is clear.

The difference in those foundations is due to the size and the amount of work put into the skyscraper compared with the latter. You see God the same way want us to build the house of our lives on a solid foundation.

Every house has to be built in 2 ways, strong or weak. The bible reveals that God has given us the tool to build our lives  You see our house here refers to our lives. With that in mind, let’s note what God says here.  Through wisdom, a house is built, And by understanding it is established; By knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. Proverbs 24:3-4

Wisdom refers to the right application of revealed knowledge from God. For the believer, God has made us in a way that we can receive His wisdom, His ideas and insights about every area of our lives. But we will have to take advantage of this grace that God has given us and exercise that advantage over the challenges we face in this life. Because through wisdom a house is built, we will have to assess our lives to see each time whether we are taking our lives in the direction of strength by right application of the wisdom of God from His word or in the direction of weakness through disobedience.

Jesus warned us about having weak foundations.

Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, and it fell. And great was its fall.” Matthew 7:24-27

I want you to notice an interesting thing here, about what happened to the two houses Jesus talked about, the same rain, the same floods, the same winds, descended on both houses, while one fell, the other stood, the weak house built by the person Jesus likened to a foolish fell greatly whilst the one built by a man Jesus likened to a wise man stood whilst they were both facing the same challenges.

The difference is about what Jesus says

In order to build a stronger life on the right foundation, we will have to learn to hear, understand what the bible says and do them. The truth is, doing what the bible says is wisdom and it will enable us to build any area of our lives in such a way as to withstand the challenges of life and outlast them!. Living on this planet automatically attracts challenges. Contrary to many opinions, we are in a battlefield of life and there is no way you can be on a battlefield and not be shot at. But with the word of God you can win and outlast your enemy!

Life is not fair. But we can have the life of our dreams if we follow the words of Jesus and do them.

It’s so simple that the only way we can complicate it is when we allow fear and doubt to prevent us from doing it. The more we obey the word of God and instructions that the Holy Spirit brings to our heart, the stronger we make the foundation of our lives to be able to withstand the storms and winds of life and the opposite is true if we don’t

Now, in case you think that you are not one of those people not smart to win in life, I have news for you. If you look at the above scripture in Matthew 7, you will notice that Jesus said that he who hear and do His word, He will liken him to a wise man, you don’t have to be wise in your own self, you just have to imitate and act out in your life what the bible says and leave the result to Him. You will see it in your life, your foundation will become stronger.
