Faith

The Reality of faith

by segunidowu March 16, 2021
written by segunidowu

When you talk about bible faith with some believers their idea is that it is something you act like it is so, when it is not really so and when you fake it long enough it will become real. Some don’t even believe that faith is real, their ideas is it is some kind of intangible thing that they do not see or understand.

But we understand from the bible that it is not so. Faith is real. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

Methinks that what is a substance is substantial what is an evidence is to some extent, perceptible.

The mobile signals is there

You see, just because some people cannot see faith physically they conclude that it does not exist. Think about it, if some one called your mobile phone, you pick the call, you answer with the assurance that you will speak to the person despite not seeing the mobile signals, you believe and know that the mobile signals is there. It is invisible, yet you don’t doubt that it is there. Perhaps, if you could not get the signals you will not doubt its existence, you will think it’s somewhere within your vicinity, you will go look for it. You will change your position in order to get the signals. But when it comes to faith or spiritual realities, we want to see it, touch, feel it, smell it or it does not exist. Just because something is invisible does not mean that it does not exist.

All came from the invisible realm

In fact everything you see today physically came from the realm of the invisible. Before creation the earth, it was formless and empty. Genesis 1:1  But God created the earth, what we see today came out of something, it came out of God’s word. It did not come out of nothing, it came out of something but that something is invisible. How do we know that ? By faith

By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. Hebrews 11:3 The same thing about faith, it is invisible but that does not mean that it is not real. It is very real. Hebrews 11:3

Think about the wind. don’t you see its effect? Faith is real, it’s a great spiritual force. a real force not abstract.

Likewise, God is real and does exist. He just can’t be seen with your physical eyes. God is broadcasting all His power and blessings every time. He is transmitting His signals always. He does not stop. God’s transmitter is never broken. However, the receiver is the problem, not God.  It’s always our receiver that is the problem.

The Prophet and his angels

An interesting story about the reality of the unseen world is seen  in 2 Kings chapter 6 about Elisha the prophet, who was ambushed by the mighty Syrian Army because he was revealing  the battle plan of the Syrian King to the King Of Israel, who would then use the information to ambush the Syrian. This happened several times. The Syrian King was convinced that a spy was in his ranks but was told that the prophet Elisha was the one who was revealing the King’s battle plan to Israel, so the he Syrian  King sent his army to capture Elisha and they came to surround the city of Dothan where he was.

And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” 2 Kings 6:15

Note Elisha’s reply  So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 2 Kings 6:16

Elisha’s servant like some people today would think that Elisha is mad or even worse according to the saying, had added madness to his religion, if you catch my drift. He probably looked at himself and Elisha and compared the number of the two of them to multitudes of soldiers waiting to destroy them. However, Elisha was not perturbed.

And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. 2 Kings 6:17

The young man must have been surprised to see this wonderful and glorious but sudden sight. But the truth is, it was not a sudden sight. Elisha believed and knew the angels were there with them all along. How? By faith. He knew angels are real and God has already said that they will protect you and will be with you. Psalm 91:11-12. He accepted and believe in the reality of the unseen realm just as you would believe and know the reality of your mobile phone signals to pick that call!

Faith is real as your breath

You see, we are not believing for something that isn’t real to become real. Faith is real, as real as your breath. We have the word of God which enable us to see into the spiritual realm by faith and make what we see in the spiritual world to manifest in the physical world. This is how we are supposed to live. This is a wonderful way to live. This is the normal Christian life. This is walking by faith and not by sight (2 Cor. 5:7).

If you don’t appreciate the reality of faith, you will not be able to understand and use the force of faith  because faith is a force that bring things from the realm of the invisible into the realm of the visible and it is real.

Identity theft, could it happen to you?

by segunidowu March 16, 2021
written by segunidowu

There is a story of a woman who was wanted for murder and her name was released internationally a murder suspect because someone stole her identity and used it to create a fake passport used at the scene of the crime. Fortunately for her, the perpetrator used her name and not her picture on the passport found at the scene of the crime. And she has her own original passport with her. For her the theft of her identity was obvious.

But there is an identity thief that act stealthily. is less obvious, subtle in approach yet more deadly than the murderer with the intention to steal your identity and rob you blind if you let him, That identity thief is the devil.

Your identity is valuable

You see, your identity as a believer is so valuable that Satan constantly attack it day and night and his ploy is get you to question your identity. However his ploy is not new though, his trick is the same old trick he used on Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden when he threw a question at them with the intention to question their identity. He introduced doubts  about their position, ability and capacity into their their minds!

Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” Genesis 3:1 NIV

He then went ahead to tell them that when they eat the fruit their eyes will open and they will be like God.

They were already like God. You see they have been made the possessor of the whole earth already by God, that is their identity. They were the master and mistress of the earth and everything in it , it belongs to them.

Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” Genesis 1:26

unfortunately Satan succeeded because Adam and Eve yielded.

Satan tried to steal Jesus’ identity.

He tried the same tricks on Jesus and failed woefully in Matthew 4. When he laid those temptation on Jesus, his intention is to repeat what he did at Eden by introducing doubts and getting Jesus to prove something that He is the Son of God. Jesus did  not need to prove anything to anyone. He is the Son of God. simple.

Satan  tricks is not new, he is trying everyday to get believers to question who they are  in order to steal their identity and defeat them. When we don’t know who we are, Satan will steal our identity from us and leave us in a position of defeat and failure because our identity is precious. We cannot afford to define ourselves the way the world does and defeat Satan.

Your identity is not based on the natural things

Your identity is not primarily based on your race, colour, background or class.

No it is based on your  God-given identity as new creatures in Christ Jesus.

Yes, I know that most people easily identify with the natural realm – their background, family, tribe, class, race, colour.  However, we must not allow ourselves to be defined by the natural because by reason of the new birth, we have been given a new identity by God, that transcends our natural selves and we need to constantly look in the word of God in order not to forget who we are in Christ Jesus.

Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. James 1:23-24

The word of God reveals our identity in Christ, that new identity was given to us when we got born again and we must continually affirm that identity and not allow the identity thief; Satan to steal out identity with his lies and deceits.

Check out what the word says about you, about your identity

You are created anew in Christ Jesus Ephesians 2:10-13

You are delivered. Colossians 1:12-14

You are a joint heir with Christ. Romans 8:16-17

You are holy and blameless in Christ. Ephesians 1:

You are accepted and belong to Christ Ephesians 1:11-14

Jesus has given us a new identity in Him, continually meditate and affirm who you are in Christ Jesus as you identity and when the devil try to teal that identity, refuse to let him.

You can’t not take that risk!

by segunidowu March 16, 2021
written by segunidowu

As you look back to your life and career to date, where do you reckon you should have been braver, where do you wished you have taken some risk, trusted in yourself more, and been less cautious and go for it? where? Almost all of us can relate I guess.

Risk has rewards

It’s easy to stick to the status quo and stay in that comfortable lane that we know. But then what is life if that is all we do. It becomes routine, boring and lacks growth.
It’s possible we have all heard of McDonald, but if Ray Kroc did not take the risk to create McDonald’s restaurants all over United States, we probably would not have heard or taste the McDonald’s burger today. When people think of risk especially in business and entrepreneurship, they think about a special kind of person who bets the house on and then reap high reward of success and glory. But that is actually not the whole truth. Wise entrepreneur never bets the whole house, they hedge their risk so that no matter the initial loss, they are still ticking to fight the next day and eventually win the glory

Why not bet the whole house

The bible instructs us to take risk. In fact the bible is full of ordinary people who took risks and becomes extraordinary by the things they did by their obedience in faith to instructions given to them. However, this  kind of risk the bible tells us to take is to bet the whole house on the project Jesus. To follow the plan He has for us in this life.

You see Jesus  taught that.  Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. Matthew 16:24 NIV

He told us to follow Him with our whole heart, soul and body . He encouraged us to take this exciting risk with our lives that will lead us into an adventurous life in Him, if we only would dare.

This adventure, this risk begins with knowledge. No wonder He said  “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11: 28-29

Understand the risk and its rewards

Jesus did not want us to  jump into taking the risk without understanding, He want us to learn how to walk the walk and talk the talk by seeking first the Kingdom of God and how things works in that Kingdom. (Matthew 6:33)

Truth is, what He is asking us to do is not a leap darkly into the unknown as many people thinks , He is calling us  to walk by faith in His word and not by how we feel.

His word will always come to pass. His word will always bring the result He promised when we believe it.

The certainty of the reward of the risk is hundred percent. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1  He promised that He will hasten to perform the word He has given you (Jeremiah 1:12)

Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. Very interesting, thrones and Kingdoms for those who took the risk to follow and obey him, and fulfill His plans for their lives  here on earth.

Perhaps you think when you take that risk to obey Him and fulfill His plans for your life, you only have the rewards coming to you in the sweet by and by. He thinks otherwise and His answer is the same He gave Peter hundreds of years ago

Then Peter began to speak up. “We’ve given up everything to follow you,” he said.  “Yes,” Jesus replied, “and I assure you that everyone who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or property, for my sake and for the Good News, will receive now in return a hundred times as many houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and property—along with persecution. And in the world to come that person will have eternal life.

You have the reward starting now dear friend, in fact the reward is built into the obedience.

Are you at rest or not?

by segunidowu March 16, 2021
written by segunidowu

To some extent, when people think of rest they imagine weekends, beach vacations, golf courses, retirement and in many cases sleep. However, the vocabulary for work for many apart from the ‘workaholics’ is limited to the modern industrialised nine-to-five paid labour. Hence, we might look at what the scriptures says about rest and miss the import of what the bible means because to many rest comes after work briefly and then work resumes. Rinse and repeat.

Even when you contrast rest with worry, you will observe that in many people’s lives, being at rest as we described above does not necessary means without worry. In fact you can wear out yourself lying down on the bed with worry. Worry, a story for another day.

A promise of entering God’s rest

But let’s look at what the bible says about rest: Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. Hebrews 4:1 So, there is a promise of entering into a rest of God and the bible informs us that it is important for us to have this promise and we should aware of what we will miss if we miss to have this important promise working in our lives!

For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it. For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said:
“So I swore in My wrath,
‘They shall not enter My rest,’ ”
although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. Hebrews 4:2-3. Looking at what God said above, it gives us an insight to what the bible called rest, It indicates that it is a position that we have to take by faith and that means that, when our stance is on the word of God, we are in His rest.

Bible faith and rest

You see, there is a relationship between bible faith and rest, that is why to enter into God’s rest, when we hear the word of God we have to believe it, we have to mix our faith with the word in order for the word to profit us. The word has been given to us by God to produce faith in us the bible says faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God (Romans 10:17) but we will have to purposefully believe the word given to us to enter into the rest of God regarding what God has said.
God’s plan and process is for us to enter into a place of rest, which is a blissful acceptance of the truth of His word happening or coming to pass in our lives exactly as God has said it or as He has described it to us. For example the bible promise us that we were healed already by the stripes of Jesus (1 Peter 2:24.) We have to accept that as a truth that we were healed already irrespective of what we are feeling or the symptoms we are experiencing.
Now somebody said ”Pastor, I believed God’s word that I was healed but my head was telling me otherwise, the intensity of my symptoms was so great that I could not rest, I am finding it hard to believe”
I understand that. I believe God understand, but God does not accept that. And I have to go with God here. I do not accept that.

Labour to enter into God’s rest

Why? Because the word of God is true. Your experience has nothing to do with the truth of God’s word. What He said is true. Always. He is not going to change what He said.
That is why to enter into His rest we have to take the time to study and meditate on those great and precious promises given to us by The Lord in His word, on those things that The Lord has said until we know without an iota of doubt that it is ours and no one, no devil can convince us otherwise or take it from us. That is the work we have to do.  When we enter into that rest, things begin to become exciting and interesting, we begin to see great things happening because we are at rest in God.

Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. Hebrews 4:11 KJV
That is the work we have been called to do in His word, labour in it, spend time in it, mediate on it till you enter into that arena of rest. It’s a place you enter and stay.

We have His promise that we can enter into His rest.

So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God. For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labours, just as God did after creating the world. So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall. Hebrews 4:9-11 NLT

Did you see that. So spend your time to enter into the rest of God regarding His promises to you. You’ll be glad you did.
And, stay there.

How difficult is it to operate by faith?

by segunidowu March 16, 2021
written by segunidowu

I’ve heard people say some things about faith that is quite interesting and; well, trendy depending on the latest fad in the world. Some people refers to faith as a person’s religion. I saw that ‘the internet’ lol… says that faith is having complete trust or confidence in someone or something and religion as the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods. However, a  christian should not be in doubt about what faith is because the bible tells us what it is and what it is not, And the knowledge from the scripture gives us insight into what it is!

We know about faith through knowledge

We know that through knowledge of the word of God same way we understand everything about God

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1

Truth is for the believer, knowledge is power, knowledge is essential in order to understand faith. All things that pertain to life and Godliness are given to us by God through  His knowledge (2 Peter 1:2-4) and faith is one of those things.

No wonder Romans 11:17 says that So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God

God is not denying us

When the believer finds it difficult to operate in the principles of faith, it’s not that God has not given him or her faith or the ability to operate in faith, it’s because the believer has been deficient in the knowledge of the word of God to operate in faith. Some people instead of taking the word of God and become studious  to obtain through meditation the necessary information from the word about faith, they prefer to throw in the towel, give up and say ”Oh! I do not have faith like so and so”

Or become extreme and explain it away religiously ”maybe it is not the will of God for me” ”I don’t have faith”

Truth is  you do. Hear what the bible says about it.  For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. Romans 12:3.

That concludes it, isn’t it. Every believer has faith.

Deficiency of knowledge

You see, faith is based on what you know in the word of God, the problem we are having that is causing the difficulty to walk by faith, has been that the knowledge of God’s Word has not been abiding in us, we have allowed the carnal knowledge of the world to choke the word of God that was there. Jesus warned us about this in the parable of the sower in Matthew 19.

That, amongst others is the reason why we have difficulties operating in faith, the devil’s plan is to get us to abandon getting the knowledge of God or when we have the knowledge, abandon it  through pressure.

However we have the responsible to feed ourselves the word of God and not allow the enemy to distracts us away from the word. We cannot afford to be double minded about the word of God because a double minded man is unstable in all his ways. James 1:8

So, we have to continually be in the word of God and receive the knowledge of the will of God regarding every areas of our lives, believe it, say it and act as if it true until the manifestation comes. God did not design walking in faith in His word to be difficult, we make it difficult, when we don’t follow His pattern regarding walking by faith.

Think Big

by segunidowu March 16, 2021
written by segunidowu

I remember, a story of a man who purchased a property for his business and he invited his pastor to come and look at it. When the man got there, he look at the size of the property and turned back to go to his car without saying a word! The man ran after him and asked him what happened. He looked at him and said

”I know you shrank the dream, go bigger, think big”

The man went home to think about what his pastor said and decided to buy the adjoining land he’d negotiated before to add to the property. Few years later, the price of the property went up in the area and he sold that land he bought for a tidy profit.

Now while that story illustrate the advantages of thinking big,  the word think big, for the believer is not a cliche, Of course in many circles people say it, but believers need to have the  understanding and revelation of what it means to think big because your assignment on earth, the plan of God and lives of many hinges on it.

The beginning on earth began big

The creation of earth was very eventful, earth is one of God’s creation among other planets and it’s big!

The bible described this planet  being in total chaos and without form and God changed it by the word He spoke, He turned this massive expanse of real estate into something good.

..And God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:25.  He then created Adam and Eve and handed over the planet to them. Adam and Eve were operating in perfect harmony with God and have no problems about increase in the garden of Eden.  You see, when God created man, His creative attributes were put in Him  with expansive imagination to think big that even after the fall of man with the devil taking over and subjecting man to  bondage, the devil could not totally obliterates that mentality. Those people who came after the flood, decided to think big and conceived a tall building that will reach heaven. They were ready to build it, but because they were going against God’s plan which is to multiply and fill the earth, God had to come and stop them. Read Genesis 11:1-8

You have the capacity to think big

When we gave our lives to Jesus, we were made new creatures in Christ Jesus, with the mind of Christ and the faith of God to believe God to create things. No wonder the bible states that the extent of what we can do as believers is so vast that we cannot even reach its end, it keep expanding in scope and dimension. Paul told the Ephesians Church about it. He said ”Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen” Ephesians 3:20-21. Did you see that, the capacity to think big is already inside of us , God is able to do more than what we can ask or think, what we need to do is to learn how to make it our lifestyle every day.

You will have to renew your mind

Though we have this creative ability and capacity inside us, the process through which this will be our way of life is to renew our minds to this truth. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2  The plan of God is for the glory of His knowledge to spread all over the earth and it will require His people to begin to mirror His thinking in every aspect of their lives in order to establish His plan on earth. Yes, many times the vision God will give you can look too big for you, It’s because He want you to accomplish that vision with Him and that is why we have to look at things through His prism and think big. He is a Big God. We have to understand that the bigness of our God requires that we imitate Him by thinking big because He want us to. He does not only want us to think big but pray big, speak big and release our faith to believe our Big God to bring to pass the big dreams He has given us.

How to speak like Jesus

by segunidowu March 16, 2021
written by segunidowu

One thing many people don’t realise about this planet is that it is a word built, word controlled environment. The reason is clearly stated in the scripture and you can find it in the book of Genesis chapter one. Moses was given the revelation by God regarding how this planet came to be in existence and how man and all other beings came into existence. It’s interesting when you look at what the bible say in Genesis 1;1-2 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

Nothing happened until God spoke

Nothing happened until God looked at that scene and changed it. He spoke And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. Genesis 1:3. Everything was created by what God said and became exactly what God said it should be. Now that is God, I am just a human being, I can’t speak like God!

Yes you can!

You see if you are born again, you are a new creature in Christ Jesus, you have an inbuilt capacity and ability to speak like God.

How do you know that Pastor? I know that because the bible says we can imitate God. Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. Ephesians 5:1 We can simply follow God’s example at all times.

Jesus followed God’s example

That’s exactly what Jesus did when He was here on earth, you see though tradition has taught many to think that when Jesus was here, He was using His Powers and Abilities as God, the Son.

He wasn’t.

Who, being in very nature God,  did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! Philippians 2:6-8

He was a man born of a virgin, anointed with the Holy Ghost. That is why He called Himself the Son of man. Yes He was Special with the Fullness of the Anointing or Powers of God but He carried it in human vessel just like you and I and did not sin or make a mistake or in error whilst in human body once, not a single time.

You know how He did that? He followed the Father’s example by saying only and only what His father says and nothing more. Hear him,  So Jesus said, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me. John 8:28

I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. John 5:30

You can do the same

But pastor that was Jesus, He and God are in the same class, I am but a human, Yes, Jesus and God are in the same class but it takes nothing from them for you to act your class, an image of God created to imitate God.

He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked. 1 John 2:6

How do we do that? we do by speaking exactly what the word of God, the bible says and things the Spirit of God who is our Comforter and Teacher bring to our heart to say. We don’t speak the facts represented by the problems and lies of the devils about poverty, sin and sickness. No We speak the word. We speak like Jesus at all times.

Jesus said we should. Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done Matthew 21:21 NIV

What do I do when I miss? Just quickly repent and straighten your mouth immediately, in fact that is how you engage in spiritual warfare; with the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God, speaking what God says rather than what you feel or see. That is how the bible teaches us to speak at all times; like Jesus.

Your measure of faith is enough to do the job

by segunidowu March 16, 2021
written by segunidowu

There was a time Jesus was teaching about love and forgiveness to His disciples, the instructions in the message was revolutionary to them and looks difficult to carry out that they they blurted out Lord, Increase our faith! Luke 17:5

Believers are still crying out to The Lord to increase their faith today.

Now, have you been in a situation where you are facing a challenge or a situation in your life where you need a change, a financial breakthrough, a divine intervention, healing etc and you have been crying to The Lord to increase your faith just like the Apostles did?
I want you to watch what Jesus said next
He replied, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.Luke 17:6 NIV

YOU ALREADY HAVE THE FAITH YOU NEED

When you made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life the faith of God took up residence in your heart. It is the gift of God. The Bible says in Ephesians 2:8, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.” Every believer has faith, you already have the faith you need for everything you want to receive from God or achieve on this earth  God gave each of us a measure of His own faith.
For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. Romans 12:3

We did not do anything to earn or deserve it. It’s a gift that He gave us. We have it however we have responsibility to have faith in THE measure of faith given to us and  develop it. In fact Every believer has the same measure of faith and the same measure of faith cause you to become born again and is powerful enough to overcome anything the devil and the world can throw at you

YOU HAVE THE FAITH OF JESUS

The faith you were given when you gave your life to Jesus was the same faith Jesus used, the faith of God. If you think we have been given a second rate faith, think again. It’s not. It is the faith of Jesus Himself

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 KJV

You and I are responsible to develop and use it

PLANT YOUR FAITH

Notice what Jesus said above, if you have faith like a mustard seed. Mustard seeds are very small, very tiny and Jesus said that even if you have THE measure of faith which is the starting point you can move the obstacle, how by speaking to it. That is how we are expected to plant our faith, speak.

Consider what Jesus told His disciples in Mark 11:22-23

So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

Using your faith means that you will have to believe God’s word about your mountain and speak to it. You speak to the mountain, to the challenge, you called those things that are  not as though they were (Romans 4:17) just like God who gave you your faith. Don’t be like the disciples and cry to God to increase your faith, use the one you’ve got. It’s enough to do the job.

How to pray during Covid-19 crisis

by segunidowu March 16, 2021
written by segunidowu

Years ago when I was younger, I read a piece written by a man about how to greet ourselves at the beginning of the year. Many people would say Happy New Year. His opinion is that we should be saying to one another that may your road be rough, because it’s inevitable that one crisis or the other will happen during the New Year  to everyone. Suffice to say I did not fully understand what he meant  then. However, his point about facing one crisis or the other in the New Year is very apt today. Most people could not have predicted what is happening in the world today when this year began. Who thought we would be in lock down because of a pandemic.

But you see, this crisis is not different from any other crisis from God’s perspective. The bible says Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever. Hebrews 13:8

The Lord has already prepared a way for you and I to overcome the COVID-19 crisis in all ways whether health or financial. It’s so simple that you will have to complicate  it to miss it.

We have the right and authority to pray to God expecting to receive His answers to the problems COVID-19 brings with it.

DON’T PANIC.

Your first reaction is going to determine the outcome in a crisis situation. Your attitude to the crisis situation is going to determine the final result. You and only you can determine that. God has provided everything you will need during this crisis already. So don’t panic. This is important.

What Jesus told His disciples when He was about to die was for them not to panic. Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. John 14:1

What Jesus told His disciples is the common theme that runs throughout the bible when the people of God faces crisis or challenge, fear not.  Consistently God tells His people not to fear, nor  panic.

Go to God in prayer but not in panic

Why? Because panic and fear set in motion the law of sin and death and will give the devil the advantage over the way your mind will process the situation and the crisis. Your mind will shut down and will not allow you to focus on what God has said rather, you will allow what you are facing to consume you and because you are facing a crisis, your mind will be dominated by that crisis, hence you will not able to see anything else.

BELIEVE THE WORD OF GOD

One of the challenges that many people face when they are facing crisis like the COVID-19 is to look at God’s word and think His word cannot do anything in the situation. They panic and in that mode most people when they are praying begin to do it in fear   Yes, the situation is desperate but we must allow ourselves first to find out what God has said and pray without doubts, believing God. We must not let worry and panic propel us to start praying in fear and doubt and therefore pray amiss. James 4:3. We must believe the word of God about the situation and not what we are seeing. When we allow what we are seeing to influence us, we will pray in fear and panic. So look into the word of God and pray. Refuse to allow your mind to dwell on panic and fear.

DON’T BE OFFENDED

One of the biggest problems people battle is negative emotions like depression and discouragement, Most people constantly battle these emotions and it becomes more pronounced in times of crisis like this. Now we might think we have excuse for it but we don’t. There are reasons, but no excuses.

Jesus expressly commanded us not to be offended.

These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. John 16:1

Jesus said this when He was about to be crucified. He knew what was going to happen and He knew that His disciples are going to face a very difficult situation. You know these people have left everything to follow Jesus and in the next few days it ‘s all going to appear as if they have wasted their time  are backing the wrong horse, It will be so discouraging and the feeling of despair of seeing their hero, their champion abused, ridiculed and executed in a criminal manner will be much for them that they will run away in fear. But Jesus spoke to them so they will not be discouraged and offended.
You see in crisis offence will come, emotional discouragement will come but we can refuse to take it.  According to Mark 4:17, when we allow ourselves to be offended, Satan will take the word  of God from us and we need the word to pray.

So when you are offended, the Word of God stops releasing its life-giving power in your life, the Word stops operating that is why Jesus had that lengthy conversation in John 14, 15, and 16 so that His disciples will not be offended by what is coming.

So pray with confidence that God will do what He says in His word.

CONTINUALLY PRAISE GOD

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Psalm 150:6Don’t let praise be removed from your mouth during this crisis.Because you have prayed to God by His word and believe. God has answered your prayer already but you have to receive what God has given you by faith and thank Him for it before you receive the physical manifestation of what you prayed for. Your thanksgiving and praise brings God on the scene, it asserts the truth that you have your request already and the devil can’t stop it. Crisis and challenges has a way of playing itself in our mind over and over again and tends to become our focus instead of the word of God. But when you focus on praising God, it breaks that and helps you to refocus your attention on the One who is greater than every challenge.Keep your attention on praising God and thanking Him during this crisis because it will help you to look at this crisis from His perspectives, knowing that you are prepared to handle whatever comes your way.

You have to banish lack in your life

by segunidowu March 16, 2021
written by segunidowu

Think for a moment about a lifestyle without lack of resources in your life.
What would it look like?
Is it a concept that is alien to your thinking, only you can answer that. However the idea of lack is strange to what God designed for mankind. Truth is there is no lack on this planet, everything we need is already here.

Can you stretch your mind to believe that?

The earth was created to provide abundance

The bible reveals to us that before God created man, He prepared already everything man will need to sustain him on this planet. There was no lack but abundance until the fall of man due to sin of Adam and Eve.
However God’s plan for man to live in abundance never changes. He is the same yesterday, today and forever Hebrews 13:8.

When He initiated a covenant with Israel through Abraham, He guaranteed them provision and abundance provided that they follow His dictates. That is why David who understood that covenant stated that The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack. Psalm 23:1 Amplified Bible. Lack is not from God, there is no lack in heaven and the will of God for earth is to produce abundance.
Poverty is from the devil, poverty did not show up until man fell and handed over the earth to the devil.

In the New Covenant ratified by the blood of Jesus which is better than the Old Covenant Hebrews 8:6 we have assurance of God’s provision. God promised to meet all our needs.
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6.
This scripture gives us insight into what God says He will do about our needs. He shall definitely supply our needs according to His riches and not according to anything else like our status, where we live, or the status of any other economy but His. God does not want you to lack anything good and desirable and the reason why He set that in place is because of His love for you. Unconditional love.

Let your mind agree with God about abundance

We should agree with God instead of what we see in the world and declare that every day that the Lord will provide for us, we shall not want of any good thing at all. God’s power and prosperity is available to us to meet every need whether, spirit, soul or body. However we need to find out our part of the covenant and do it in order for our needs to be met.
The bible says Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. Proverbs 3:9, 10. And in Malachi Chapter 3 verse 10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
God also said that He is the one who has given you power to get wealth Deuteronomy 8:18. Every believer has the power to banish lack from their lives.

The choice is yours not anyone else

Now the choice is yours whether you want to walk in abundance or not. God will not force you to walk in abundance if you don’t want it and are not committed to it. So our response to these infallible words of God will cause His promises of provision to be established in our lives.
Don’t be dismayed or discouraged by what appears to be lack in your life. The Psalmist by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit said The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. Declare the same; put in motion the power of God by obeying the plan He has put in place to meet your needs. Say it out loud to yourself every day.” The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. I shall not want of good things, I shall not want of wisdom and direction, I shall not want of material and financial blessings because the Lord is my shepherd”

God want to lead you like a shepherd will lead his sheep to your place of success, blessings and destiny. Yield to Him. He is your Shepherd. You shall not want.

Isaiah 40:11; John 10:11. Hebrews 13:20, 21
