Your decisions determine your destiny

by segunidowu March 16, 2021
written by segunidowu

When we take a close look at history we will discover that momentous events are shaped by decisions made by various players which produces destiny events. Take for example the story of Thomas Edison who is credited with the discovery of the light bulbs that we all take for granted today. His decision to continue to perfect his work until the final piece despite failures changed the course of history impacting on the destiny of everyone.

Your decisions sums your destiny

Your decisions determine your destiny and life is a series of choices, in fact truth is where you are today is a result of choices you have made in the past, even if you are not aware of these choices, you still made them anyway. No grey areas at all.

Every day we make decisions that move us closer to our God ordained destiny or away from it!

God has a wonderful life planned already for you and it is good.

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope Jeremiah 29:11 NLT

But because God has all these plans for you does not mean it would come to pass if you don’t make the decision at each point of your life that will move you towards it. It like you trying to catch a flight, if you don’t leave your home on time and go to the airport, you will miss the flight.

Change into His plan

You cannot afford to sit still and put God’s plan for your life on hold. You see God never changes but His plan for your life is ever changing and dynamic to bring you into that future that He has planned for you. So that is why you have to be constantly changing with the insight God brings to you through the wisdom in His word and that will require your everyday decision to follow his plan.

Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. Luke 9:23 NIV

Yes, it might be difficult sometimes to make the right decisions to follow His plan in the midst of challenges we are facing but it pays to follow God and we will have to make that decision every day if we are going top fulfill our destiny.

Remember, life is a series of choices and your decisions determine your destiny.

Have you parked your life on the wayside?

by segunidowu March 16, 2021
written by segunidowu

Many people have parked their lives on the wayside possibly due to unpleasant life issues and unfulfilled dreams. My observation is that most people have to deal with this kind of things in life because as many will say life happens.
But this is not the will of God for our lives. God has not plan that life’s unpleasant and tragic happenings will sideline you and confine you to park the car of your life in a ditch and refuse to go on. God knew that the devil will bring temptation of this kind to us and had already prepared a way out.

Remember that God’s plan for you always remain good

When God created you He put in place a good plan for your life. Some people think that because they are not born with certain features or into certain environment or family means that they cannot have a successful and glorious life, therefore they allow their birth to shape their life. You see nobody determine his or her place of birth, parents, colour and biological characteristics but you can determine where you are going to end up. The good news is that God who is no respecter of persons has already declare His plan for your life irrespective of where you are from and it is good.

Many, Lord my God,  are the wonders you have done,  the things you planned for us.
None can compare with you;  were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare. NIV Psalm 40:5

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. NIV  Jeremiah 29:11

God’s gifts and callings in your life does not expire

I read a story about a woman who finished the degree she started 50 years later, and she was 94. She started the degree at the middle age of 44 but stopped in order to work and  raise her kids. She refused to let her age stop her form accomplishing her dream. Many would not even attempt to do any thing once they pass certain age. But you know no matter your age, God has not given up on you fulfilling your destiny and dreams.

Why? Because God doesn’t take back the gifts he has given or disown the people he has chosen. Romans 11:29 CEV

You require wisdom to move forward

Te bible tells us that wisdom is the principal thing and one should get wisdom (Proverbs 4:7) which means that in order to proceed you would have to assess where you are and design where you want to be. It will require seeking wisdom from God first, God want us to come to Him and ask for His wisdom and He will give it top us when we ask.

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. James 1:5. Wisdom will give you the right insight and ideas into what you need to do to move yourself forward.

You must forget the past and reach forward to your future

Paul the Apostle is a man who could have allowed his past to limit him from fulfilling His mission in life. He was at the forefront of persecuting Christians and was involved and complicit in their imprisonment and murder. He became a believer when he encountered Jesus on the way to Damascus and he never looked back despite various threats to his life and numerous persecutions by both believers and non-believers. He refused to give up on the heavenly mission he has been given. He could have looked at his past as a persecutor and allowed that to prevent him or his various weaknesses and faults but he did not, learn form him. He wrote his secret to the Philippians Church.

Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14

He learned not to be defined by his past but press into his future. Do the same.

It’s now your choice

Now whether you decide to move forward or not is your choice. I know there are many obstacles and inconvenience surrounding you that will tell you that you can’t move forward.

Note this, there will be no time when everything will be perfect, but there is God’s time, there is today for you. Make the right choice and go for it starting today.

For He says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. 2 Corinthians 6:2

Would you connect with your Destiny Helper

by segunidowu March 16, 2021
written by segunidowu

Sometimes the challenges of life can appear overwhelming. For instance it might look as if everything is against you, you can’t seem to get a job, you lost money, you are going through family problems, and you feel as if you are being pressed on every side on the road to nowhere and wonder what you can do! All is not lost for it’s not about what you can do but what you can allow The Greater One inside you to do.

You have not been left alone to face life

You have been given the Holy Spirit who is inside you if you are believer and dwell within you to help you. Many times we ignore His presence inside of us and try to do many things on our own. We allow our minds to be taken over by many things especially the problems we are facing in this life that we do not acknowledge the Greater One inside us who can help us to overcome.

Someone said Pastor, ‘I am looking for my destiny helper’
And I say before you look to anyone, look to the Holy Spirit,

Be conscious of His presence in you to provide the solution and the strength in your life. The Holy Spirit is a Gentle person who will not force you to do anything but will gently nudge you in the right direction if you listen to Him.

Yield to your Destiny Helper

God has already declared you a winner in life because of Jesus. You are a winner, you’ve been given the ability to stand and win in life. The truth is there is no situation that comes against you that you cannot face and win with the Holy Spirit, your Destiny Helper, The Greater One.
He is greater than any attack, any problem, and will help to accomplish any task on your path to your destiny. So learn to yield to Him and the instructions and wisdom He gives you. Determine to do what the Holy Spirit says to your heart and in the word of God instead of yielding to the pressure that the enemy brings your way. You have not been left alone to face life. Yield to The Greater One in you. He is in you to help you do it, yield to His love, to His righteousness, to His peace, to the word do not yield to hate, lies, lust and all other evil works of the enemy.

Stand in your victory

The victory brought to us by our Destiny Helper is already established by God for our lives and destiny before we came to this earth. Therefore, we have to stand and resist anything that want to dictate a different destiny for our lives.
The bible says in 1 Peter 5:8-10 that believers should be sober and vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walk about seeking whom he may devour: whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
That means we can resist a different destiny from what God had established for our lives, we can resist the devil and all his attacks. We can stand our ground and refuse to allow the enemy to ride roughshod over us and destroy our lives.
We resist the enemy by faith, we put our faith in the fact that The Holy Ghost will take hold with us against the enemy by faith, We stand on the word of God that tells us to resist the devil believing the outcome God has pronounced; the devil will flee! When we resist through the help of The Greater One in us God’s power will show up on our behalf.

Check your thought life

Resisting devil’s lies and attacks begin with your thought life. You see, what you think about is what you will act on. The bible says as a man thinks so is he, you need to allow your thought to be governed by the word of God always. That is your responsibility. The more you resist the devil in any particular area of your life, the more you have victory and strength in that area. The more you allow the enemy to take control of any area of your life, the less strength and defeat you have in that area. So study and meditate on the word of God daily, let His word control your thoughts every time.
Be steadfast and unyielding, be watchful and determined. You have what it takes by the Spirit of God to attain the destiny God has established resist the devil, when you do it, he will flee from you, and he doesn’t have a choice.

1 Peter 5:8-10; James 4:7; 2 Peter 3:17; 1 Thessalonians 5:5-6; 1 John 2:1-2; 1 John 1:9.
