Have you parked your life on the wayside?

Many people have parked their lives on the wayside possibly due to unpleasant life issues and unfulfilled dreams. My observation is that most people have to deal with this kind of things in life because as many will say life happens.
But this is not the will of God for our lives. God has not plan that life’s unpleasant and tragic happenings will sideline you and confine you to park the car of your life in a ditch and refuse to go on. God knew that the devil will bring temptation of this kind to us and had already prepared a way out.

Remember that God’s plan for you always remain good

When God created you He put in place a good plan for your life. Some people think that because they are not born with certain features or into certain environment or family means that they cannot have a successful and glorious life, therefore they allow their birth to shape their life. You see nobody determine his or her place of birth, parents, colour and biological characteristics but you can determine where you are going to end up. The good news is that God who is no respecter of persons has already declare His plan for your life irrespective of where you are from and it is good.

Many, Lord my God,  are the wonders you have done,  the things you planned for us.
None can compare with you;  were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare. NIV Psalm 40:5

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. NIV  Jeremiah 29:11

God’s gifts and callings in your life does not expire

I read a story about a woman who finished the degree she started 50 years later, and she was 94. She started the degree at the middle age of 44 but stopped in order to work and  raise her kids. She refused to let her age stop her form accomplishing her dream. Many would not even attempt to do any thing once they pass certain age. But you know no matter your age, God has not given up on you fulfilling your destiny and dreams.

Why? Because God doesn’t take back the gifts he has given or disown the people he has chosen. Romans 11:29 CEV

You require wisdom to move forward

Te bible tells us that wisdom is the principal thing and one should get wisdom (Proverbs 4:7) which means that in order to proceed you would have to assess where you are and design where you want to be. It will require seeking wisdom from God first, God want us to come to Him and ask for His wisdom and He will give it top us when we ask.

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. James 1:5. Wisdom will give you the right insight and ideas into what you need to do to move yourself forward.

You must forget the past and reach forward to your future

Paul the Apostle is a man who could have allowed his past to limit him from fulfilling His mission in life. He was at the forefront of persecuting Christians and was involved and complicit in their imprisonment and murder. He became a believer when he encountered Jesus on the way to Damascus and he never looked back despite various threats to his life and numerous persecutions by both believers and non-believers. He refused to give up on the heavenly mission he has been given. He could have looked at his past as a persecutor and allowed that to prevent him or his various weaknesses and faults but he did not, learn form him. He wrote his secret to the Philippians Church.

Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14

He learned not to be defined by his past but press into his future. Do the same.

It’s now your choice

Now whether you decide to move forward or not is your choice. I know there are many obstacles and inconvenience surrounding you that will tell you that you can’t move forward.

Note this, there will be no time when everything will be perfect, but there is God’s time, there is today for you. Make the right choice and go for it starting today.

For He says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. 2 Corinthians 6:2
